I come from a long run of arctic cats where I could put 5000 or 6000 miles on the motor and never think about taking the top end off. Typically the PTO side needs attention first. 2004 and up (600HO and 800 HOs, not 500ss) you can pull the clutch and remove the plate that protects/retains the seal and inject a bit of isoflex (dental irrigator syringes work great) into the bearings. Remove the pipe and take the case cover off to drain and clean it out. Re-tap the holes, they are a M6-1.0, and replace the bolts. The bolts skidoo used are a POS and they have a tapered edge that will strip out the casing when you put them back in. Replace the case cover and refill via the breather opening. Sold mine with 9000 miles on it in 2015 (2012 that I bought brand new) never had 1 issue. I changed the chain case every 1200 miles lubed and adjusted the track every other ride and adjusted the belt when needed. Never even changed the plugs. A G4/G5 fuel pump cartridge includes the pump and a new sock filter.
